Based on this, I match musical elements to the feel and create draft(s) for review.
Based on feedback given, I see what to keep, change, or remove.
This iterative process repeats once or twice until the final track is created.

Using FL Studio
I decided to take advantage of not having the audio limitations of classic consoles.
FL Studio allowed me to manipulate 8-bit sounds.
With this, I enhanced basic synths with vibrato, delay, and changing tone quality.
Composing the Music
Stage one involved residents fleeing a village on fire, being overtaken by monsters.
The main emotions were Panic and Intensity.
Because intensity can be linked to any emotions, I focused on using elements that felt Panicky first, then adding intense elements to enhance this feeling.
